BENCH INVASION - COMPAGNIE KRAK
13th May / gegužės 13 d. (TBC)
EN
In this performance, I go with 10 people, each with a bench under their arm, into public space. We actively invite people to come and sit next to us. We build the benches. We sit, we slow down. We are present, we listen. At the end of each encounter, we invite that person to a final moment later that day. After each encounter we move. We take the bench under our arms and walk on in the public space looking for a new person. At the final end of the performance, we all come together: the bearers of the benches and the sitters. Bystanders are also invited. We turn the benches into one long table in the public space. With words, music (violin) and with a glass, we toast to the beauty of small encounters and life. After, the communal table turns into benches again. The square is empty and everyone continues on their own way. Central themes are connecting people (again), being present and celebrating, and all of this happens in public space. www.compagniekrak.be Idea: Dieter Missiaen en Els DegryseArtist: Dieter Missiaen Text: Els Degryse / Kommil Foo Violin: Anouk Sanczuk With the support of Perplx, Miramiro, CirkLabo. |
ASK THE BREAD - I PATOM THEATRE
13th May / gegužės 13 d. (TBC)
EN
Performative installation ASK THE BREAD is telling the most insignificant story, about the most insignificant woman, in the most insignificant village. In this insignificance, lays the imprint of urbanization and a picture of a country which has moved to the center and forgotten its periphery. In this insignificant story, lives traditions soon to be forgotten, lives a past that has seen and felt the impact of the future, a past glorified and condemned, a future feared with the belief for better. For years, Raphaël has been travelling around with his act “Teatro Pantalones”. He likes things to go according to plan. When this is not the case, there are always ingenious solutions and his captivating smile. A poetic show that is great in his unpretentiousness. MARIANO GEDWILLO (ARG) - Clown and Juggler
14th May / gegužės 14 d. (TBC)
Mariano, better known by his stage name Cronopio, is a clown, director, tightrope walker and juggler from Argentina. He started his career in the art world in 1997, performing in Argentina and other South American countries, as well as in Europe.
In 2002, he founded the clown theater company Compañía de Trabajadores Kallejeros, so that clowning would reach not only big cities, but also small towns and villages. Mariano’s search for a true and authentic Clown character is based on the realities of life, so he is interested in interacting with very different audiences – rich and poor, young and old, serious and funny, interested and skeptical. “I believe in the transformative power of art, and that each of us is gifted with the ability to learn the language of art in order to share our unique vision of the world.” Photo: Edgars Semanis |
AŠMENYS | EDGES - Apeirono teatras

Nebekalbu žodžiais – kalbu ašmenimis. Mano glėbys – du pjautuvai. Mano lopšinė - galandamos geležtės. Kad užmigčiau – prispaudžiu akis peiliais. Šiąnakt ant ašmenų uždegiau žvakes ir išbūriau tau ateitį – tavo vaikai ir vaikų vaikai niekada nenustos žaisti peiliais ir ugnimi. Ritualinis veiksmas „Ašmenys“ išardytų bažnyčių griuvėsiuose. Inspiruota Birutės Pūkelevičiūtės poezijos rinkinio „Metūgės“ EN I no longer speak in words - I speak in a blades. My embrace is two cutters. My lullaby is sharpened blades. To fall asleep, I press my eyes with knives. I lit candles on the blade tonight and spelled a future for you - your children and the children of your children will never stop playing with knives and fire. Ritual action called "Edges" will appear in the ruins of dismantled churches. Inspired by Birutė Pūkeliavičiūtė's poetry collection "Metūgės" http://www.apeirontheatre.net/ |
